Who is Lidocaine Viscous for ?
Lidocaine Viscous, a local anesthetic, is used
to treat the pain of a sore or irritated mouth and throat often
associated with cancer chemotherapy and certain medical procedures.
Lidocaine Viscous is not normally used for sore throats due to cold,
flu, or infections such as strep throat. Lidocaine Viscous is
sometimes prescribed for other uses; ask your doctor or pharmacist
for more information. |

When should I be careful taking Lidocaine Viscous ?
Before using Lidocaine Viscous,
- tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are
allergic to lidocaine, anesthetics, or any other drugs.
- tell your doctor and pharmacist what
prescription and nonprescription medications you are taking,
including vitamins.
- tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan
to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant
while taking lidocaine, call your doctor.

Although side effects from Lidocaine Viscous
are not common, they can occur. If you experience any of the
following symptoms, call your doctor immediately:
- drowsiness
- blurred or double vision
- shakiness
- irregular heartbeat
- vomiting
- seizures or convulsions
- ringing in the ears
- rash
- severe itching or burning
