Who is Zileuton for ?
Zileuton is used to prevent asthma symptoms.

When should I be careful taking Zileuton ?
Before taking zileuton,
- tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are
allergic to zileuton or any other drugs.
- tell your doctor and pharmacist what
prescription and nonprescription medications you are taking,
especially anticoagulants ("blood thinners") such as warfarin (Coumadin),
propranolol (Inderal), terfenadine (Seldane), theophylline (Theo-Dur),
and vitamins.
- tell your doctor if you have or have ever
had liver disease or if you consume alcohol regularly.
- tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan
to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding. If you become pregnant
while taking zileuton, call your doctor.

Side Effects
Although side effects from zileuton are not
common, they can occur. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms
are severe or do not go away.
- headache
- upset stomach
- heartburn
- vomiting
- constipation
- nervousness
- dizziness
- insomnia
- gas
If you experience any of the following
symptoms, call your doctor immediately.
- stomach pain
- fatigue
- itching
- yellowing of the skin or eyes
- flu-like symptoms
