CYSTITIS

Cystitis is an inflammation of the bladder and may also be called a
lower urinary tract infection (UTI). The urinary tract consists of
the kidneys; the ureters (the tubes that connect the kidneys to the
bladder); the bladder and the urethra, which leads from the bladder
to the outside.
Cystitis is a very common problem, affecting 10 - 15% of women every
year. It is commonest among women in the 20 - 50 year age group and
during pregnancy. |
