MIGRAINE
DIAGNOSIS |
|
|
|
If you suspect
that you are suffering from migraine it is important that a
diagnosis is established before you begin to consider how to manage
it.
Consult your
doctor to rule out the possibility that your headache is not caused
by a more sinister underlying problem. It is important to be well
prepared for your consultation. There is no test for migraine, like
there is for diabetes or asthma so diagnosis is made on the story
told by the patient to their doctor. You should be able to tell your
GP when your attacks occurs, how long they lasted, whether you were
vomiting, had diarrhoea, or other symptoms. If you are able to give
this information, your GP will be able to work with you and help you.
It might be a good idea to keep a headache diary. |
